How To Hit A Bump and Run

By May 30, 2016Blog, Golf

Brian from Barham, New South Wales (a fan of Golf University) has written in to our Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/GolfUniversity saying he has been having some issues with his bump and run; he is flying it, sometimes ending up with a 3 putt coming back to the flag.

As part of Golf University’s weekly “Tip from the Pro” I videoed Mark Bowd, the Head Pro at Murray Downs Golf and Country Club, in New South Wales, where he teaches Brian and the rest of us:

  • The correct stance to use when hitting a bump and run
  • How to distribute your weight for the optimal shot

And…

  • How to grip the club so that we can take out the wrist hinge

Which will ultimately…

  • Allow us to control the club speed when hitting the bump and run.
